Hello Everyone

My name is Matt and my wife Lynne and I just bought six chickens from Tractor Supply. We went the safe route and bought all sexed chicks to keep our neighbors from complaining too much about the morning noise. Anyway, we own horses, bunnies, dogs, cats and now chickens. We have four Leghorns, and "Rainbow" and an Asian something or another that is actually very pretty and its feathers coming in look more like a Plymouth Rock.

So, call us crazy for jumping right in, but I figured what the hell, it looks fun and not overly difficult. I will be keeping my eye on this website and I am sure I will have a plethora of questions in the near future.

Jumping right in is the only way . So only six I wonder how long that will last . You got bunnies . Well believe me when I say chickens hay a way of multiplying without a rooster . Oh I gots to have some of them blue egg layers and then some of them what lays really dark brown eggs . So for your own safety don't look at any pictures every again .

Hi Matt (and Lynne).
Welcome to the wonderful world of chickens. I too have leghorns (rescued from a battery). I hope you have lots of egg recipes. (There's lots on this site).
I just got my hens 6 weeks ago and this site has been indispensable. Everyone here is so friendly, helpful and patient. I highly doubt that there is anything that someone here hasn't encountered at one point or another.
