Hello hows everyone doing. I had a quick question on breeding types and was hoping if anyone could help me. I'm new to the Raising and taking care of chickens. I just now figured out what all type I have. All my chickens were rescue animal that needed a home.I know the some basic but not enough. Now my golden duckwing phoenix rooster and my rhode island red hen. The hen laid an egg and my silkie hen started brooding. the eggs hatched and im not sure what the baby turns into. And is there away to tell male and female apart. The chickens that I have are 1. golden duckwing phoenix rooster he's the only rooster I have. Then 2. Phoenix hens 2. Silkie hens 1. Ameraucana and 1. Rhode island red. And the three eggs that hatched two of them im pretty sure there phoenix cause they don't look like Silkie babies. And the egg from the Rhode island red im not sure it looks like the phoenix chick but slightly different. If anyone has any advice on this it would be a big help. Thank you

Hello everyone. Thank you all for the warm welcome. I never knew there was so much to learn about chickens its incredible. Here are some photos. First 3 photos are my rooster Rhode island red and the little phoenix hen the 2 photos of the baby chicks are from the island red and the rooster. It hatched a few days ago. Had to hatch it in my make shift incredible but worked. Once the hen hatched the other 2 she to sitting on them. So I figured I'd experiment.

Here ls the rest of my flock and the brooding silkie and the two she hatched.

20210429_161803.jpg 20210429_161838.jpg she finally getting her feathers back when we rescued them she was pretty bald. I'm pretty sure there both from the phoenix hen but I have a hard time telling the two eggs a part. I was told that silkie babies have a little pom pom on the head, or would that change due to cross breeding. There's the rest of the flock. If im wrong on what I'm calling them let me know. And thanks to everyone for all the advice 20210429_161838.jpg 20210429_161803.jpg 20210429_162346.jpg 20210429_162445.jpg
