Hello fellow Canadians.

Hello Surjeet: You have a lot of chickens. I wished I had that many. I have 3 jersey giants, 2 easter eggers, and I just picked up 2 cute 2 month old silkies. They are adorable we have a white one and a partridge one. What colour are your silkies? What do you like/dislike about them? We also have a poodle X, shitzu, and bull mastiff.
Oh but Aoxa beats me by far for quantity. I can't wait to go visit her farm.

Surjeet, Aoxa does beat us all, combined!! I would love to visit Aoxa's farm too!! The turkeys, chickens, geese, ducks look happy indeed, I love all the pictures. I know my chickens love running around my property, having dirt baths and destroying my gardens! But they are awesome to watch.

oh, I has some mutts: two big ones and two little ones. I REALLY want Chanteclers as they are 'pure lain' Quebecoise but cannot find any in my budget right now.
We are in southern Monteregie, near the American border. Meaning that, if we were allowed to bring chickens into Canada I could pick some up at the Tractor Supply over the border. I love Tractor Supply. Every time I go in, I find six or seven things that I have loiter around thinking about buying until the children are so horrid I pay and leave.

Are they that expensive over there? I have a trio of the Quebec blood line here from which I hatched 9 chicks. :D The rest of my chantecler, I doubt their purity and don't know if they are of the Ontario blood line or elsewhere in the country. This is the breed I want to concentrate on, so far of my nine chicks, I already know one is not going to be a breeder, if a roo he's stew if a hen she'll just be a layer, it has greenish feet/legs, don't want to carry that trait down the line.

one chap at 'la basse cour' (the other poultry website like BYC) was offering them for 25 dollars, 150 for the lot. for me, that's expensive as i don't want to be forced to sell chickens-only their eggs.
i just thought it would be fun to have Quebecoise chickens as I am a Quebecoise immigrant. Sound dumb?

La basse court, jamais vu, je vais devoir aller verifier ce site. I paid a lot more for mine, but I don't regret it as they gave me cute little chicks.

Those who live in the Maritimes should check out the sale/show going on in Petitcodiac this weekend. I will be selling some young silkie roosters, lots of mixed breed pullets, call ducks, sizzles (2 roosters - rough feathered -ie curly - some smooth pullets and roosters), and a pair (only one pair) of mottled Houdans. I'd like them to go to someone who will breed them. They are unbearded.

Also showing 15 birds. Time to start the bath water lol
