In the Brooder
Let me first say Hello, my name is Brian, I live in the mountains of Western North Carolina on several acres with my wife and children. We are Just now finally getting started in keeping chickens, Brooder is ready to go and chickens arrive next month from Sand Hill Preservation Center and should be arriving next month in April if everything goes as planned!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
(I had chickens at a young age so it is all relatively new to me being the primary caretaker of them.)
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
(0 but 50 next month in April on order from Sand Hill Preservation Center)
(3) What breeds do you have?
(On order are Buckeye, Delaware, Dominique, New Hampshire, Rose Comb Rhode Island Red, Partridge Chantecler, Red Chantecler Speckled Sussex, Rose Comb Red Dorking, Colored Dorkings, Welsummer, and Black copper Marans ordered straight run.)
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
( I encountered this forum while researching what breeds of chickens I should get and have been reading the threads for some time as a non member and now that I'm about to be a chicken owner I felt I should finally become a member!)
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
(working on my land, getting started raising animals and plants of various sorts.)
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
(as of right now, I have a wife and young kids, 2 dogs but soon I wish to get into besides chickens, geese, ducks, pigeons, goats, sheep, bees, and what ever else strikes our fancy in the future.)
