Hello from a Photographer

Hi All
My love for poultry started when i was a kid and had many fine feathered hens and roo's. Now i live in an apartment in NYC and can only think back to the good times i had taking care of my roo's and hens.

I am currently planning a project for my photography: a chicken stories book! I want to photograph a bunch of roo's and hens and publish a book about them. with special mention of the people and communities such as BYC that keep the joys of raising chickens alive.

If anyone can help point me in the right direction as to where i can find chicken owners in the ny/nj/pa/ct areas willing to let me lovingly photograph their chickens, I will really appreciate it.

In return for the models, I will provide digital fine art photographs of their chickens / roos / chicks / eggs and sometimes prints of the photographs.

I am doing this more as a labor of love than something for actual profit. Its a constructive use of my time outside of my day job and will perhaps get me close to the creatures I appreciate so much.

Great idea! Chickens are great for photos and art. I wish I was closer so you could photograph mine. Good luck!!!

Have you checked around for poultry shows, or do you want them in their natural surroundings? That makes me wonder. Do the big shows have professional photographers there for the official photos on champion row? hummmm
