Starting with chicks is so fun! I've learned a few things over my last couple batches and also from some very helpful articles here. My favorite method is using a heating plate or Mama Heating Pad in the brooder instead of a heat lamp. I also built my new coop to include a convertible brooder space to make it super easy to integrate new arrivals or separate a bird if necessary.
