Hello. I'm Trish and I started with three chicks last year from East Valley Tack and Feed in Sunland. Two were killed and now I'm looking for chicks. Does anyone have Black Australorps for sale? Looking for females only. I also have Valley Quail, bees and koi, 20 young fruit trees, worms and black soldier fly for grubs.

Hi :welcome Trish

Glad you could join the flock! Sorry to hear you have lost two :hugs Always very sad when they are lost. You might like to drop by the where am I where are you section of the forum for your state thread. Here is the link > https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you Hopefully there may be some one near you who can help you out.
There is also the buy sell trade section too https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/67/buy-sell-trade

Wishing yiu the very best of luck in your search. I hope you are able to find some Australorps.

Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

So sorry about your losses. Good luck in finding the pullets you seek.

Yorkshire coop has already given you the best 2 forum links to assist you. But you will need 20 posts to be able to start a thread under buy/sell. But I think you can search there and reply to any of interest.

Glad you have joined us.

Welcome to BYC. If you post on your state thread (Calif. has several by area) you can find out if you have chicken loving neighbors - who may have Black Australorps.'

Hi Trish!

We are also in the Altadena/JPL neighborhood, welcome! We've been here for 3 years and have been keeping chickens for the last 2 (years). We don't have the breed you're looking for but @Dare 2 Dream Farm has 7 week olds right now. We get our girls from them and have always been 100% happy. Beautiful, healthy girls.

Here's a link to their availability page, and they deliver to our area weekly for a nominal fee:

Were your losses to predators? We haven't had any problems (yet), but I do let our girls free-range during the day. I know there are lots of potential predators in our area - we know the risks and take precautions, but it's always a concern.

I look forward to hearing back from you! We don't know anyone else in the JPL area with chickens, although we do have friends in other parts of Altadena.

Best wishes,

Kristina
