Welcome! On a half acre lot, I am almost positive you can have chickens. Call the good people at the county zoning office 410-222-7437 and ask. They have always been very helpful. Good luck and let us know what you find out

I have a paper copy of the AA county zoning laws regarding Chickens/Ducks and will be happy to share. (The zoning office however will also the info.) I did read that on 20,000 SF (.459 Acres) to 40,000 SF you may have 8 hens. A license is required but looking at the specifics it is designed for the protection of the birds and the requirements are things we would do anyway. Let us know how it goes!
