Hatching
My names Hailey and I am new here at BYC
I am 15 years old and enjoy chickens/ducks/geese very much.
(As my user suggests, geese are a favorite)
So far I have-
4 RIR hens (4 months)
-Henny
-Velly (short for Velociraptor- shes swift and out for blood)
-Lumpy
-one unnamed
2 Mille Fleur d'Uccle Bantam roosters (5 months)
-Frankie
-Johhny
-known as The Littles
4 Khaki Campbell (hens I am thinking- 3 weeks old)
-unnamed
2 Cauoygas (1 hen and drake?- 3 weeks old)
-unamed
2 Toulouse Goslings (thinking one boy and one girl- 3 days old)
-Gary (featured in my profile picture)
-Lucy
-I just got these guys today and I have to say I am in LOVE with them. I am already able to hold them/love on them and I do believe they have imprinted (at least Gary) for he squeals like a stuck pig when I leave the room, and I took him out for a few moments and he followed me around. (cutness OVERLOAD- my mom is very amused)
Since I've moved to OR just 9 months ago, this is as big as my new flock has gotten
I did have 5 Buff Orpingtons and 3 Ameraucanas in with the RIR but we were forced to sell the Buffs and shortly after a racoon got to the Ameracanas (extremely upsetting)
Before I moved I did give a go with raising 50 meat chickens (tasty even though they were cute). I also had plenty of geese, RIR, peacocks, Barred Rock, etc.
And for a little more about my outside life- I enjoy riding horses and am hoping to grow up to become a trainer and professional groomer on the side... I am currently training a little Peruvian Paso mare for western pleasure this summer. I have 5 cats (Tegan, Dallas, PB- all 6 or so years, Bella- around 7-9, and Cookie- 18) in addition to all these birds, as well as 3 saanen goats ( Nibbles- 2 months, Handy- 5 months, Harper- 3 years). I am hoping to get some cows soon.
Thats all I can think of for now, I am excited to be a new member of the BYC community
