Hello from California

Hi just a quick hello from Sacramento. One of my daughters developed an interest in raising chickens after spending some time last year on a nearby farm. We live in town but we are allowed to have chickens here, so we just got our first chicks - one Buff Orpington and two Austrolorps, and we are very excited about our new chickens. I've been reading like crazy and really appreciate all of the great ideas and the wealth of information on this forum. I have absolutely no experience whatsoever, so it's great to have such a wonderful resource online! I've been working my way through the fermented feed thread and the wealth of information that has accumulated here is really cool.
