Hello from CA's central valley!

I'm a city gal and have always wanted a piece of the country living.

I've got a friend who has some silkies in her side yard and I fell in love with the idea of having a few pet chickens. It may be as close as I'll ever get to farm life. I've been poking around online the last few weeks researching my newfound obesession and hunting for some silkie pullets <-(I learned a new word... pullet!!!). I found this site yesterday and am pretty excited to find so much "real hands-on-experienced" information in one place. You all are a wealth of information and wisdom for me... thank you!!!

I may be asking tons of questions. I hope to dig enough up on my own from everyone's previous threads.
