Hello from Devon, England! New to chickens!

Hi All well today we brought home 6 chickens and a cockerel! They are buff Suzzex and beautiful birds. The ground was so boggy after built the run that we put pune branches down to make the fround more even and passable. Have since found out his is great for the chickens so fab start!! Our youngest daughter is 8 and named the cockerel Rusty-hence the username . I am that much of a novice that i bought a feeder and water things and got them the wrong way round and wondered why the water wouldnt stay in the container - daughter...”mummy thats for the corn‍“ we’re going to love this chicken business! We have thought about it for a long time. My partner has had them before (thank the lord the chickens say) so we have some guidance!! Love to hear all your chicken stories and hints and tips!
