Have always wanted chickens. Late in April of this year, got 10 Buff Orpingtons, 2 Rhode Island Red, 1 Gold Laced Wyandotte, 1 Black Star, 2 Light Brahma, and 1 Barred Rock. All were wk old chicks. Now they are so big. We have 4 kids and they're loving them as much as we are. Love their personalities and friendliness. The pullets combs and wattles are getting bigger and redder, especially the Wyandotte and Black Star. Excited for future eggs! Can't wait to get more. I miss having chicks in the library to watch while I have morning coffee. Glad to have found this site. Really enjoy reading all the posts!

Hey, everyone, thanks for the warm welcomes! OK, so here's my first question...11 of my pullets will be 16wks July 20. One cockerel is the same age. The other 4 are a month younger. I will be putting out the oyster shells next to their feeder. Is it OK for the other younger ones to be eating it? Mine nibble on anything I put out. Thanks!
