This is what I would do:

• add some natural logs and branches in the run. Chickens like perching on and pecking at them.
• install windows on the two sides of the coop that are protected with the run roof (where the blue boxes are in these images) and back them with 1/2" hardware cloth. The insulation will help keep it cool but it is lacking in much needed ventilation and good air flow.:

• Remove the little "stands" and install one long roost:

• Add a mixture of sand/granulated PDZ to the coop floor and use a kitty litter scoop to clean out the coop in the morning. You may need to put a longer handle on it to reach the back. This will make cleaning the coop out and keeping the smell away much easier.

I agree. I live in Florida too, west of Ocala. My avatar is some of my coops. Good luck with your flock and have fun...

Couple questions first when you say windows I assume you mean just cut them out, not actual windows, I like the half inch hardware cloth idea as a window, just wanted to confirm we are on the same page
Second is there a "good height" for the roost in the coop? Sometimes the girls seem to like the lower levels and other times fly to the highest spot they can get to. Thanks for the input Never really thought about putting a window above the door as suggested. Thanks again
