Congratulations on acquiring your farm so quickly! Homesteading can be such a rewarding lifestyle. Do you plan to raise your own meat as well? Sounds like you've got a really pretty flock on the way... I would suggest using the deep litter method in your coop area... easy maintenance and sustainable. Only clean it out once a year and it'll eventually yield some great compost for your gardens!
Since you like more natural methods, look into a heating pad or plate to brood your chicks. It's a fun way to raise them (a surrogate mama hen of sorts) and helps them adapt and feather out quicker.
