Hello,

My wife and I recently joined backyard chickens! We love this website! It has been very informative when seeking answers to our questions. We live in the lovely state of Wisconsin. This fall we built a very nice chichen coop for our 17 chicks. We have 6 Black Australorps, 6 Red Stars and 5 Easter Eggers. They are almost 3 weeks old. The coop will have a run built onto it this spring and the coop itself needs a few finishing touches.

Welcome to Backyard chickens. Very nice coop, you've got talent! Some very nice breeds in your flock - I'm sure they will meet your egg-spectations when they are old enough.

I'm building a small run for our birds so they have a place to go outside this winter, if they want. I already have the bottom of the coop fenced off so they can safely go under the coop and not have to worry about predators or getting wet. This spring, I will be adding a 35 foot run onto the side of the structure you see framed out.
