My family and I live up the Northroad from Kenai, Alaska. We have five baby chicks (no idea the breed yet). Built a brooder right before we picked them up. Built a coop this last week. They are now three weeks old. This is our first endeavor into backyard chickens, primarily for the kid's education (as well as my own) and some tasty eggs.
from West Virginia! Glad you joined us! It sounds like you are off to a fine start. When you can, post pics of your babies and the more knowledgeable members would be happy to tell you what you have. Or what they think you have!
I have to admit, all I know of Alaska, I learned off of Ice Road Truckers! It is beautiful up there.
When your chicks are a bit older, you can post pics in the What Breed/Gender is this section. Someone may be able to tell you what they are. Or have fun guessing!
Glad to have you here!
I had a close-up look at your avatar. One of them looks uncannily like one of my sex-link chicks when they were younger, but I'm not sure.
