Hi everyone! I'm new to the world of chickens! My fiancé and I recently bought our first home together in Northern Kentucky. I can't wait to start my own flock of chickens!

I'm thinking of getting Buff Orpingtons. I want a good dual purpose breed. I have young kids, so I need something with a good temperment. Since I'm going to be sticking several of them in my freezer, I want hens that are relatively broody so I can replenish my flock.
