I have always wanted to own a few chickens and my dream was realized last year - 2022. I bought 4 day old chicks. 3 have survived - 1 died from pasty butt a week after purchase. Summer is a Welsummer lady, Star is a Black Star lady and Chickofsky is our rambunctious Ameraucana rooster.
I live in Langley BC Canada and still learning the ropes of chicken raising and where to find local supplies. Its not been easy. So grateful for the BYC members that have posted very useful and informative things.
I would love to connect with local backyard chicken farmers to swap ideas, tips, etc.

I was going to urge you to pop in on your country thread. Hopefully you can 'meet' others there in your general area that can help you out.
