I'm brand-new to chicken-keeping (chickening? fowl-fostering? hen-husbandry?) and am reading up all I can before the little fluff balls get here in mid-April. A nice lady at the feed store directed me to this site so here I am!

Thanks! Maybe I can find the nice lady in the MA thread. Wish I had gotten her name.

We are getting speckled sussex, buff orpington, salmon faverolle, and buff brahma; 2 each. We wanted easygoing birds who could handle a New England winter and the info pages the feed store had on them seemed to indicate these would fit the bill.
