Hello from Mansfield Texas.

Welcome, glad you have joined us. But so sorry about your problem.

Looks like you have it all under control. Your brooder revision is exemplary of how to do it right.

If you haven't already done so, I would clean the wounded area with a tissue or cotton ball and hydrogen peroxide. It helps hide the injury.
Also change your heater light to the red bulb type - it hides red and will help you get them back together.

Feel free to ask questions.

Good luck with your babies.

Maybe you could find a doll size t-shirt to put on her, if it covers her wing where the injury is, she won't see it and neither will the others. The shirt might even annoy her enough so she turns on the shirt instead of self -mutilation

I cleaned up the area just with water will do it with peroxide and they do have the red light.

Welcome to BYC and the coop! There's a lot of great peeps here! Feel free to ask lots of questions. But most of all, make yourself at home. I'm so glad you decided to joined the BYC family. My black chick had a bald spot that was picked raw. I put some triple antibiotic on it. It has a mild pain reliever in it. That help mine.

Been cleaning her wing up with hydrogen peroxide, looking better but still looks as though she is going at it some. The girls getting the bigger house is making them harder to catch for sure. Have to trick them with worms or they seem to really like my ring.
