I have three children my oldest lives with his dad. Now Im remarried with two children Luella who is six and Sam who is 4 they are ours together. Now I have 9 feathered babies lol. Four Australorps. One older hen named Peachy. One roo named Sam and two other hens Blacky and Lucky. And two mystery girls Lighty and Dark Brownie. And 8 more on the way all pullets. Black sex links and Spangled Russian Orloffs. So
Ive got my hands full but I wouldnt trade it for anything though. Its a comminment not enter in lightly lol.. I enjoy chickens and raising them and sharing their eggs with others who need them.
Course my DH thinks that I am crazy for having all these chickens but he loves me and understands me and knows that this gives me relief. My children love to be involved with taking care of them like helping with the feed and water. But when it comes to the actual cleaning forget about it lol..
They scatter like rats hahahahaa. Course their only little so I dont blame them. Course when I was my daughter's age 6 I had to help clean out the coop my folks had so where does she get off so easily??? But I love this though I feel connected to my Great Great Grandma Katie she raised chickens and turkeys and her daughter my Great Grandma Luella (who my daughter is named after thanks to my Grandma Alice she named my daughter her great granddaughter) she raised just chickens. So its in my blood...
