I have been stalking he BYC for about a year. We finally got our first chicks we started out with 2 leghorns, 4 barred rocks and 6 red sex link's. neighbors dog got one of our BRs and one RSL disappeared. a few weeks late I brought home 8 Ameraucana's and 2 Bantam's. my first chickens are about 8 weeks old and my new babies are about 3 weeks. We are waiting on a turkey and some broilers to finish our happy chicken haven. Even though I am pretty sure we are way over our city limit we are loving watching them scratch at the ground. Looking for any advice you can give on keeping my flocks happy. right now we are having an issue with pecking order.

Hi and :welcome

Your flock sounds great. There'll pretty much always be issues with pecking order no matter the size of the flock - we have four chickens and they give each other grief. Sometimes increasing the size of their coop, or letting them free range a bit more, can reduce problems because they've got things to distract them. Some people hang up shiny things or maybe a small cabbage.
Good luck!

My chickens are free range. The bigger ones have a huge coop and the smaller ones are living in a dog kennel that can fit 2 saint Bernards in. When I let them all out in the morning the bigger one's are just so mean to the little one's and my bantams are no bigger then a 2 day old chick. We will see what happens. Next week we will be moving them over to the main coop. Lets hope all goes well. :)
