Welcome to our chicken hideaway on line, to you both. Remember: the ratio of chickens to children, is at least 4 chicks per child!

I keep seeing references to "chicken math" and I think I'm gonna be in big trouble ha! We have 8, and my husband is currently building a coop that will house up to 12 or so! I can already tell I wouldn't mind more.

First lesson: have your coop and run ready before you get the chicks. How did you do on lesson one??

Weeeeeeeell, I've failed there haha! My husband is in the garage as we speak building it. We have had them for a week. Our best friends have chickens and nudged me along to just do it before I changed my mind. Everyone else in the house has wanted them for years and I've been the holdout!

Yes, the kids! I figured we'll be home indefinitely and it's a really good time for us to do this adventure together. I can't believe how quickly I've fallen for them!
