Hi all. This seems to be a lovely active site, where lots of people will be talking chickens. I am looking forward to seeing all your lovely birds, and I hope I will be able to put up some pictures of mine. Chicken are marvellous aren't they? Super pets and a food source to boot!
Oh about me. I was introduced to keeping chicken and ducks by a neighbour, but carried on on my own with great enthusiasm. So much so I am probably referred to as 'the mad chicken lady' but of course I wouldn't know for sure. So, I am a newcomer to this site but certainly not to chickens. I keep them outdoors in as natural conditions as possible, and I find that that way they stay perfectly healthy. I've never had a runny nose and only two or three chicken with breathing difficulties, in all the years I've been keeping them. Although, saying that, keeping some of the more fantastically ornamental breeds is a little more difficult.
I do hope I will be able to make some friends on this site. I have on some others, but this site seems to have a much larger population.
So, going to see what some of you are talking about now. Cheers Animartco
