Hello everyone. I'm new to raising chickens, we just were given a coop. We haven't picked out our new family members yet, we have some work to do on the coop. Let us know what you think we can do to improve their new living quarters. Open to any suggestions. Thank you!

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! It looks like you are off to a good start with your new chicken adventures. You might like to pop by the coop section where there are some great ideas and designs. Here is the link ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/2/Coop_Designs

Wishing you the very best of luck and enjoy BYC :frow

Close off the opening under the coop - or else birds will get in there and it looks much too low, for them to be able to turn and get out. Cover the run, so they can't fly out and hopefully nothing can fly in. The kennel run fencing has spaces too wide, predators will be able to get through there or at least reach a body part and bite it off ( a specialty of raccoons.)
I would back the run fencing with 1/2" hardware cloth for much better security.
