Welcome to BYC!! "Blue Ridge" is a mountain chain here in SW VA! Best of luck with your chicks, enjoy them...they grow way too fast!!
Thanks for joining!!
The Blue Ridge mountain chain is a specific part of the Appalachian mountains. BRMs run from Pennsylvania to North Georgia, which is why the town is named that. In my opinion, they are the most beautiful.

My wife and I recently moved onto a wooded property outside of Blue Ridge in Georgia. We have been looking at this Back Yard Chicken site for a few weeks gathering information and have decided to take the plunge into keeping chickens, mainly for eggs. The local feed store have 6 week old Rhode Island Red pullets (vaccinated), these seem to a good breed to start with. Any starter tips for us please?
Thanks in advance.
Ian
Such a beautiful place. I grew up outside of Atlanta. We used to go up to see Amicalola Falls and to Elijay in the fall for the Apple festival. Closer to Anna Ruby Falls is Helen, if you haven't been there. Cute, but touristy. It's about an hour East of you.
