Hello from OK!

Thank you everyone for the welcomes! Everything is shut down for weather here so it's a good day for browsing forums :)

I did some chicken math the day after posting and took in some more farm store chicks that weren't looking great. Two I knew would do okay after some recovery time in the brooder but I had one that was down, cold, and getting trampled. I had one like that in the first batch that passed. So I didn't expect much, but I tucked it in a heat pad and gave it sugar water and a little wet cat food every two hours all through the night and was so surprised to come back to this the next morning:

Little one insisted on going back to the others and wouldn't let me tuck them back into "mama's wing." It was still weak, but the other buff chick was excited to see its brother/sister and kept close to it. Several days later, he/she's scooting around all plucky like the rest of them :)

Here's my sweet young dog (Pyrenees cross) that really got into the nursing gig. Now she won't eat or pee until we check on the birds every morning 🥰
