Hello from Olympia, Wa area

So new I'm still dithering over a coop. Never, ever had chickens but use to chase them as a child on my uncles farms. Not looking to make any money at all, just have something to do and I love fresh eggs.
So, any help, hints or advice would be nice.

Cover your pen, with the rain you have the run will be messy and smelly if not covered

a good hint is feed them lots of yummy treats and they will love you forever
