Hi Ryan please be careful if a dog joins your family. Dogs (and cats) love to chase chicks, chickens etc. chasing leads to harming them or eating them. Everything seems to love chickens. Many times it is best if the dogs and chickens never meet. If they are rotated in and out of the same run or enclosure, one day they will overlap and it won't be pretty.
