Hi all,
We are first timers with our chickens. We just got 3 black silkie hens. Have found a wealth of information here on your website. Thank you!
One of the chickens, the blackest one, my daughter named Nyx. She is the most tame of the group. The other two, we are still trying to win their hearts. Our silkies aren't the fancy kind, they have some fluff on their heads but I can see their eyes. We've been enjoying these birds, they are entertaining to watch. Already learned a few lessons the hard way. They LOVE organic baby lettuce, I had to replant my entire lettuce crop after they mowed it to the ground. And it looks like any low hanging blueberries on our bushes are going to be goners also, tried to tie up high as much as I could. But, on the plus side, these girls love slugs and those are my biggest garden pest so that will be wonderful to decimate the slug population.
I'll try and figure out soon how to post pictures.
