my name is Tracy (but you can call me Magpye) and our family moved to upstate New York in June of 2017; this spring my husband built an amazing coop, and we now have 2 Americaunas (Bertha and Nutmeg), one Welsummer (Ginger), one Light Brahma (Snowball), 2 Dominiques (Dumb and Dumber) and one (surprise!) bantam Cochin rooster, Elvis. I’ve had one or maybe both Americaunas laying the past two weeks or so, and yesterday I got my first Light Brahma egg. How much longer does it take the rest of the breeds to get layin’?

Wow, sounds like a beautiful mixed flock you have... and you'll get such a colorful egg basket!!! As far as laying those lovely eggs... well, who knows?!

My very first chicks were hatched mid April and started laying first week of August, all within about a week of each other. But my most recent girls were hatched first of May (2wks later in the year) and still haven't given me eggs YET!!! Lazy freeloaders!!

Congratulations on your first eggs!! I LOVE the names of your chickens :love
