I have no experience but from what I hear. LOL. They are pretty great. I love my BO she is a love bird. When I pick her up and cradle her in my left arm she lays her head and neck on my upper arm. So cute. And she's nice to the other chickens. I have 4, BO, ISAB laying most days. 66-68 grams eggs They are in their second winter. My 2 SLW are still pullets. 24 weeks now but they are laying 45-52 gram eggs but the yolks are as orange as the other 2. Good luck.My family had chickens when I was very little and now I'm taking the steps to get my own. I have lots of wonderful memories of those chickens.
I think I'm going to get Australorps. And maybe a couple other breeds. Presently looking for people with experience with Australorps, to make sure they are the right ones for me.
