Hi there all. I have been keeping chickens for a few of years now. I started off with a couple of Warren Browns but unfortunately I had to have one put to sleep about a month ago due to a tumor on her knee. She couldn't walk properly and the vet said said it would be unfair for her to try and adapt to living on one leg, so with a broken heart I let her go. These are my pets which is why i'm so mushy about them. Anyhow, I was left with only one so I wanted to give her a new mate. I bought a Silkie (white) a few weeks ago. I took them both to my friends farm to do the introduction as it was on 'neutral ground' and thought this would help. I went on my holiday, came back and put them both in the back garden. Unfortunately my Warren chases her around to try and peck her and is very vocal to her. I live in quite an enclosed area so I am worried about the neighbours complaining. Does anyone know how long it will take before they will settle down or any tips on how to get them to get along better? It is only day one here but i thought they would have battled most of this out at the farm. Thanks in advance.
