We have four wonderful hens currently. Two Swedish Flower Hens and two Buff Orpingtons. Very good to “meet” you all!
The Orpingtons seem healthier than any other hens we’ve had (one is 9!); we likely have mycoplasma g. floating around, and after this awful winter up here, one of the Swedish ladies now has pneumonia. She’s on tetracycline and B12 inside in a back room, and her breathing seems worse this afternoon after seeming better this morning. Vet said they often don’t make it though.
Difficult, they’re so fragile in some ways.
Thinking we should only get Orpingtons… or maybe it’s just bad luck.
