Hello From Rural Arkansas!

Sorry for your losses. Sounds like you area is not safe for free ranging. Please do visit the predator threads for suggestions and advice re: keeping your birds safe. Generally 'Electrified fencing can be of satisfactory use.

Hi and welcome to our community.

This is a useful link of BYC guides to take a look at announcements-feedback-issues-guides.3 I’d suggest including your location using the guide in that link, if you have not already done so. You can use this link to contact members in your area - Find your State's thread.

Best wishes

Thanks for the advice. I will look into those threads for more info.

Hello and welcome to BYC:frow. We too were having our chickens free range till hawks became an issue here in southern Missouri this fall.
Hello! I seem to have the perfect habitat for birds of prey. The hawk that took most of my chickens was huge. There's another smaller one that I think is the male. A Great Horned Owl I named Oakley took off with one of my first pullets.
