Hi there everyone!
I'm new to BYC! I've always loved birds (I own a few) and I've recently come to love chickens! I don't have any of my own yet, but I do plan on having a small flock of them in the near future! Hopefully when I get married and move to an area that allows them.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes I am... a few days actually. My boyfriend and I visited Julian CA, and while we were up there, we visited the Feed Supply store. I fell in love with the Australorp! They are so cute and look like little oreo cookies running around! So, these past few days I've been researching chicken's like crazy (coops too)! "My Pet Chicken" has been very helpful. I'm open to more knowledge though! I want my future hen's to be happy!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I don't have chickens yet, but someday I will.
(3) What breeds do you have?
None at the moment but, I know that I want these birds included in my Future Flock:
Australorp
Delaware
Red Star
Ameraucana
If some are N/A at the time and I can't find them anywhere, I'll substitute them for one of these:
Speckled Sussex
Partridge Plymouth Rock
Rhode Island Red

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love to draw. Mainly Dragons (love em just as much as I love birds), but I can draw other things.
I also dabble in computer graphics
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I currently work as a Produce Clerk at Vons and still live with my Mom, Dad and my brother, who is currently on a mission in Alabama (he's coming home soon). My boyfriend also stays with us, in my brothers room. We also share our home with our Avian family members:
Artemus Gordon - Umbrella Cockatoo
Harvey - Umbrella Cockatoo - Rescued
Pickle - Yellow Nape Amazon - Rescued
Huey Lewis - Mini Hahns Macaw (my baby)
2 Conures, Avi and Jetta (my BF's)
3 Cockatiels, Koki, Curly and Moe
Yes.. we have a lot of birds. We love them though. ^^
