I have a question for anyone out there. I am getting ready to put my chicken into their new coop and I was wondering do I need to put straw in their laying boxes even though they are only 6 weeks?

Personally, I do not think it is nessasary, but if you want to, you can. I just blocked off our nesting boxes and will fill them with pine shavings once they are getting closer to laying (usually around 22-24 weeks).

I am no expert, but I hope that helps!

I Do once they start getting in the boxes just for comfort.
