Hello everyone, happy to be here!
I am an urban dweller with 6 chickens - two adults and 4 juveniles. I only have room for 4 total so I am eagerly awaiting to see who is a pullet and who is a cockerel.
It has been QUITE hard to decide on just 4 breeds, but I currently have the following:
• Buff Orpington (adult)
• Welsummer (adult)
• Lavender Amercana (6 weeks)
• Cream Legbar-Black copper maran (3 weeks)
• 2 random mixes - no idea! (3 weeks)
My goal is a small flock of friendly birds, with a variety of eggs! Big dreams, I know
I bought a coop kit from Tractor Supply Co. and it’s working out just fine. It was quite the painting project though, as it came completely untreated. The hens free range when I’m in the garden with them, otherwise they stay in their pen.
