I have been getting information from this website since I got my 3 Brahama hens May 2011. There is an incredible amount of useful information on every aspect of having backyard chickens. Now I need to join. One of my girls is sick. I posted a new thread this morning under the emergency section. I haven't gotten any responses yet. I can't figure out how to copy that post to here.
On a more positive note, my girls area free range in my backyard. They provide us incredible amounts of Entertainment, as well as some good eggs! I have a Queensland Heeler dog, who is a herder. He thought the girls were squeak toys at first, but now he thinks he is a chicken and shares corn cobs with them! I also have two desert tortoises who free range in the backyard as well. We also have some wild bunnies who hang around to get in on the free food! It is wonderful to look out back and see the wild life co-existing.
My kids say I am a crazy chicken lady, well so be it! I love my girls!
Nice to meet you all!
Terri
