Howdy Neighbours :frow Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

Personally, I have found the Topic of the Week articles a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Aw thanks everybody for such a very warm welcome :)

The chickens have almost made it through their first week with us, and are happy. I will get more photos and post some as soon as I can.

The girls are all loving their new home so much. One tried to eat a bee today, which made me laugh so hard, but she ended up dropping it and it flew off. They all have their own little personalities and we can tell them apart.

Due to Emma's pain this morning, I actually picked Mipha up and took her inside for cuddles. Emma loved it. They are certainly keeping her happier. She LOVES sitting on a stool outside talking to the, letting them pick at her flip flop bling or her toe nails. Or even just having a cuddle.

I haven't read any other posts yet, and need to find out how often I should be cleaning their 'coop' out of the straw and replacing, but I did it already and there was pretty much nothing in it. No poop! I will have to take a photo of the coop that my dad built too. It has ledges inside they can roost on, ramps for them to get up too. It has a little window for ventilation and letting fresh air in. There's two planks with hinges so you can open them and allow air to freely move around. Zelda actually perched on there this afternoon and jumped onto the lawn and had a walk around :D so funny.

Anyway, once again for the warm welcome. It's made me feel like I'm at home.
