I've always had pets, but just your typical cat or dog. Ten months ago, we got 2 hens (not sure how old) from a friend. Over that time we have learned so much, mostly from BYC.
One of the hens (Sharon) kept going broody, so we broke down and got some fertilized eggs for her to sit on. Now we have 8. All different breeds. The 6 chicks are 12 weeks old.
Everything has been a fun and interesting challenge, and keeping these chickens happy has been rewarding.
I have so many questions still! I joined this community so I can post and ask. Everyone here is so friendly and supportive, I can't wait to talk to all you lovely people.
