Gauze pads will work. Cotton balls, paper towel, cloth...whatever you have really.

What I usually do is put something like a couple of cotton balls, piece of gauze, etc. in a small plastic container (or ziplock bag). Pour a little Chlorhexidine (or treatment of choice) over them to somewhat saturate them. I just take that to where I'm going to work on the bird. As for how much, just swab/wipe the wound. Most of these dry fairly quickly.
I'm going to do that tonight. Last night thunderstorms were rolling through.
 
A friend asked if I was going to buy a chick to put under Naomi. Hmm. I'd not thought of doing that. It would have to be pretty young, though. I called TSC, they have some, but standards.
