Hello! I am in Lakewood, CA also. I've been thinking about raising chickens in the backyard for awhile now, but haven't been able to find out about the zoning laws. Did you get a permit? My other concern is attracting animals. (We had signs in the neighborhood awhile ago about coyotes). Have you had any problems with that?

I know there is a feed store in Bellflower. Did you get your chickens from there? I'm so excited!

Welcome to BYC! You can check at your local town hall for all the laws and permits needed to keep chickens. You can also PM this person if you have any more questions as they may not come here to check this thread.
