Hello!
I've loved looking at this forum over the years. I come here any time I have a question or issue with one of my hens. It has really helped me over the years, and allowed me to save at least one of my hens once. I thought it was about time I joined!

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I got my first hens about 10 years ago.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 4 hens right now, but are about to get 3 more in a few days!

Ruby, Diamond, and Shadow (hidden behind Ruby)

(3) What breeds do you have?
We have 2 Biblue hens (Diamond and Shadow) and 2 bignees (Ruby and Copper). They are Spanish breeds as far as I know.
We will be getting 2 sussex and 1 barred rock this week.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
They're so friendly and fun to watch, but, of course, the eggs are great too!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I'm a blogger who loves making all sorts of things and sharing them on the blog- especially anything on the natural side.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My husband is a fisherman and I also have a 12 year old son whose favorite animal is the chicken!

I decided to post a question about cute little Copper (who isn't quite so little anymore, but is still very cute). She was supposedly around 6 weeks old when we got her at the beginning of April. (That's her in April in the pic in my profile.)
Just curious about her not laying yet- not that it's a big deal if she doesn't lay. She's a great pet no matter what.
My main concern is if something worse is going on with her, but she looks healthy and happy otherwise. She did have a prolapsed vent a couple of weeks ago, but is now OK.

If anybody has any ideas, I gave more information here:
