Hello from Tennessee!!

I am LeeAnn, from Knoxville, Tennessee. I have a 7 year old little boy and we bought our first chicks yesterday! We purchased two barred rock pullets and two black sexlink pullets. We built our coop from a kit and have placed it in our fenced in back yard. We have a lot to learn and are really enjoying watching the chicks on a daily basis. They are amazing little creatures! My son has named them Henny Penny (have to have at least 1), Hermione, Luna and AnnaBelle. The next step is to learn to tell them apart. I'm enjoying reading all of the forum posts and learning little hints and tricks from experienced chicken people.

Your chicks sound cute!! I like the name HennyPenny, I had an EE named HennyPenny but she got killed by our dog!

We have successfully made it through our first night in their outdoor coop! I have enjoyed having them in the bathroom, but I have to say it's nice to have it back! I enjoy watching all of them outside scratching and playing and just being teens! Their personalities are definitely showing through! Luna has become the easiest to handle and AnnaBelle is just sweet and cuddly! This is the most amazing site and has helped with a lot of the questions that I have had being a new chick momma!
