Hi everyone!

I have been on this site about 5 hours tonight and can't believe all the information and the helpfulness of the community in answering member questions. I don't have any peeps yet, but have been interested for several months and just looking in to it. Tonight, I have learned about all kinds of coops, scared myself reading about injuries and diseases, and laughed as I looked through TWENTY NINE pages of posts reading through the messages of people waiting to see a picture of a funny looking chick! I couldn't for the life of me figure out what DH was though - until my dear husband came downstairs to see why I am still up! There is great joy and energy in this community and am very happy to join you all and learn this new hobby.

Ellen,
welcome-byc.gif
from Yuma, AZ!

There is so much on this website. Every day, I learn something new, or figure out how to do something on the site, or figure out what something means. My son had to be the one to teach me how to add the
pop.gif
and
wee.gif
things. For the first week, we laughed at the
sickbyc.gif
every time we saw it!

Today, I'm learning about worming. (speaking of
sickbyc.gif
)

Put DH in the search (not the google custom search, the one on the top blue bar). We've had some spirited conversations about it. I swear I spent my first few weeks on here thinking it meant Dumb Husband. I'm not the only one!

Have fun on here!

We live in north central Austin. I am a little worried about what my neighbors will say - but we are thinking no rooster just a couple of hens. We live on the corner, so will put our coop on the street side of the back yard so far from the neighbors! We'll see how it goes.

Hi Ellen,

from an Austinite, now based in South Carolina!

Ever go to the Upper Crust Bakery? 45th and Burnet?
