Everyone on the street left their front doors open - Christmas is summer in Aust - and listened to each others Christmas fun as well as their own.
We did this for a little while yesterday - but someone was within vision of the front door to dong any opportunist burglars - unthought of back then.
Christmas pud is sold in all the shops premade in Aust these days - but back in the day mum used to make it with thipnee bits (3 pence) this was when I was very young - then it went to 5c pieces.

My Grandmother must have been super flush - ours had a sixpence in it.

Of course now I am tempted to give them a try.
At my advanced age that can only result in one of two outcomes - one emergency hip replacement, or two.
But it is sooo tempting!

But the walls were glass down to the floor.
I had to resolve the issue in our office because there were many complaints. Got frosted stick-on stuff for the lower 2-3’.

I think some of the ones I went in had frosted bottoms or gold colored metal around the bottom.
