The Beautiful Texas Hill Country
I am an "accidental" new chicken mommy, but have wanted to raise chickens for YEARS!

A friend of mine could not take one more of her chicks being "kidnapped" in the middle of the night, so I agreed to adopt the remaining 4 of her Australorps (at least that is what I think they are).

Today my oldest son and his friend will be fortifying the adopted coop until I can get the one coop and run I want built.

I have millions of questions, and have been reading non-stop!

I can't get enough of the information provided on Backyard Chickens!

Happy Chicken Mommy Day to me!!!!!

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join us here! Congratulations on your new adopted chickens, how exciting for you :clap I'm sure you will enjoy them very much, they sure are lots of fun. If you are unsure of breed you could post some pics in the what breed gender section ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this
I'm sure members there will be able to help you with their breed. Wishing you the very best of luck with them in the future.
Enjoy your time here on BYC and all the chicken chat :frow
