Hello from the Florida Keys

The Keys chickens are protected so wouldn't recommend anyone just grab a bunch of them.

"Birds – All migratory birds in the Florida Keys are protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Do not hunt, trap, harvest, or harm any birds. (Chickens, a common sight in Key West, are also protected against any acts of malice.)"
Chickens are not migratory birds. Lol. They are invasive and everywhere on Key West. The malice protection is from the drunks that mess with them, as with any living animal.

If you read the Act, you will see that they are, in fact, protected.

I have and did again, there's nothing in the Migratory Bird Treaty Act about chickens. There are city ordinances against things like harming and feeding them. That hardly defines protection like the sandpiper has. It's more of a touristy gimic that they have rode like a wave. Some love them and some hate them but they are ingrained into the culture there and that's why they have minimal protection, the same as a common pigeon would have on Duval St.
